writing assignment

Pierre-Jules Mene’s Mounted Huntsman and Hounds is a three dimensional sculpture made of bronze. The artwork is nonrepresentational with 26.25x29.75 inches as dimensions.
As the name suggests the sculptor tries to depict a huntsman mounted on a horse holding the reigns of a group of hounds running in front of him. The painter was a famous sculptor known for his work of various animals.
The sculptor uses simple lines for the creation of the work. A few complicated carved lines have been used for the mane of the horse and the ground. This has been used to create the effect of a rocky ground. Open speac used for the gaps between the figures in the sculpture. This probably has been done to give the sculpture the feel of freedom. A huntsman is always free to move anywhere. I feel by using open space, this is what the artist wanted to convey. The  foeman effects of the sculpture are color, dimension, lines and shape which give the sculpture an adventurous feel. The artist sticks to just one color  and  value  in the entire sculpture
